About the role
The People & Culture (P&C) branch are seeking a proactive and detailed-orientated administrator, to support a variety of people-related processes across the full employee life cycle, looking for an opportunity develop a solid foundation for their career within P&C.
Under the guidance of the People & Culture Business Partner, the role is responsible for supporting staff through the employee lifecycle in a way that creates a positive experience for prospective, new and existing employees.
In addition, you will contribute to a variety of HR operational tasks and have the opportunity to be part of exciting projects and initiatives such as large scale early career recruitment, on-boarding, and cyclical P&C activities.

Key accountabilities
- Provide broad HR administrative support for end-to-end management of the employee lifecycle in a timely manner
- Act as the first point of contact for general HR and payroll queries
- Build strong and effective relationships with stakeholders and colleagues
- Support the P&C Business Partners and Talent Acquisition team with contracts, recruitment processes, onboarding, probation, induction and exit surveys
- Update data on the HRIS systems as required and ensure HR resources are up-to-date
- Interpret and implement relevant Victorian Public Service and VGSO HR policies and procedures
Skills and experience
- Tertiary or certificate qualifications in Business or Human Resources with previous HR experience is desirable
- Strong attention to detail to ensure trust and accountability
- Ability to focus on and see tasks to completion in a demanding environment
- Well-developed relationship management and interpersonal skills
- Proven track record of providing service excellence and continuous improvement
- Organised and focused with the ability to multi-task and prioritise work output to meet deadline expectations
- Friendly and professional written and verbal communication style that is respectful, positive and adaptable with all levels of employees
- Ability to empathise and deal with confidential and sensitive matters and material
