Tandem Partners is delighted to be partnering with Henne, one of Australia’s most exciting contemporary fashion brands, to appoint their People & Culture Manager.
Henne is an Australian-born womenswear label redefining wardrobe essentials through a lens of modern luxury. Founded in 2019 by Nadia Bartel, Michelle Ring, and Laura Broque, Henne blends Nordic simplicity, Italian expression, and Australian effortlessness — creating elevated, versatile pieces designed to last.
With boutiques in Armadale, Prahran and Paddington, and plans to open new stores in the future, Henne is growing fast. Behind the brand’s cult following and curated aesthetic lies a people-first team culture — thoughtful, creative, and quietly ambitious.
We are now looking for a People & Culture Manager to own and evolve the P&C function at Henne, someone who’s as passionate about people as they are about design.
The Opportunity
Working closely with the Founders and Leadership Team, you’ll lead all aspects of People & Culture across the head office and growing retail footprint.
With the support of the newly appointed P&C Advisor, you’ll take what’s been built and make it truly your own — shaping the employee experience as they continue to scale.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and deliver on Henne’s People & Culture roadmap, partnering with the founders and SLT.
- Mentor and support the newly appointed P&C Advisor, to build capability and confidence.
- Own key P&C processes – onboarding, offboarding, performance reviews, and pay frameworks.
- Establish people planning processes aligned with business growth (including new store openings).
- Drive policy development and implementation (e.g. parental leave, EAP, benefits review).
- Develop frameworks for incentives, recognition, and progression.
- Build internal recruitment capability to support future growth.
- Provide trusted advice on employee relations and performance matters within a retail context.
- Continue to evolve the culture — supporting engagement, wellbeing, and development initiatives.
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings both heart and structure to their work. You’ll be confident operating autonomously, happy to roll up your sleeve, and trusted to partner directly with founders and senior leaders.
You’ll have:
- Strong HR expertise across all facets of People & Culture, in a similar position and level.
- A background in HR within the retail sector, ideally in founder-led, scale-up businesses where you’ve navigated rapid growth and evolving teams.
- Experience working in a greenfield or scaling environment, where you’ve built, or evolved people functions from the ground up.
- Exposure to structured, mature HR settings, bringing best-practice processes and a pragmatic approach.
- Proven success implementing people frameworks that support growth and engagement.
- Strength in policy development, people planning, and coaching.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to influence and inspire.
- A genuine passion for people, culture, and helping teams thrive.
