The Production Manager at Volcan Joinery is responsible for ensuring seamless manufacturing operations across all projects. This includes detailed planning, scheduling, quality control, resource allocation, and process optimisation. The role requires hands-on leadership, strategic thinking, and a commitment to maintaining Volcan’s high standards for craftsmanship and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities - Your Impact at Volcan

● Strategic Production Planning - Develop and implement comprehensive production strategies, policies, and plans to align with Volcan’s business objectives, managing everything from workflow scheduling to resource allocation for our custom joinery projects.

● Operational Excellence - Direct and control the entire operation of our production plant. You'll oversee all workshop activities, including cutting, assembly, finishing, and dispatch, ensuring seamless and efficient daily operations.

● Quality & Safety Leadership - Champion our commitment to excellence by controlling and enhancing our quality assurance procedures. You will also lead the implementation and monitoring of all WHS policies to ensure a safe and productive environment for the entire team.

● Cost & Efficiency Management - Monitor all production outputs, analyse costs, and spearhead initiatives to optimise efficiency, minimise waste, and improve our manufacturing processes and resource allocation.

● Team Leadership & Development - Lead, mentor, and motivate our skilled team of craftspeople. You'll direct staff activities, monitor performance, and foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.

● Asset Management - Oversee the regular maintenance of all equipment. You'll also take the lead in researching, recommending, and directing the acquisition and installation of new technology to keep us at the cutting edge of the industry.

● Reporting & Communication - Prepare detailed production records and reports, keeping senior management informed on all production matters to facilitate strategic decision-making.

What You'll Bring to the Table

● A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a Direct Production Management role.

● A Bachelor's degree in a business, economics, or technical field is highly regarded.

● Demonstrated expertise in strategic production planning, resource allocation, and implementing process improvements in a complex manufacturing setting.

● Proven experience working within an ISO 9001 certified environment is essential.

● Strong technical aptitude with a solid understanding of joinery machinery, operations, and maintenance.

● Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to manage, train, and develop a high-performing production team.
