About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager – Operations, the Production Manager oversees all fabrication and assembly activities across both Drac production facilities.
Based primarily from our Pakenham site, you’ll split your time evenly between Pakenham and Traralgon, ensuring alignment, consistency, and accountability across teams.
This role is a mix of leadership, operational oversight, and cultural development — you’ll champion safety, quality, and efficiency while leading a growing workforce of supervisors, tradespeople, skilled labourers and apprentices.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor and develop Production Supervisors & Leading Hands at each facility
Drive a strong safety, quality and team culture across both facilities
Oversee production planning, resourcing, scheduling and forecasting
Manage production budgets, asset utilisation and facility efficiency
Champion continuous improvement and LEAN manufacturing initiatives
Implement and embed Drac’s Train to Task system
Foster collaboration between fabrication, assembly, design and project delivery teams
Promote modernisation and digitisation of production tools and documentation
About You
You are an experienced production or fabrication leader who thrives in a hands-on, dynamic environment. You lead by example, build strong teams, and have a passion for improving how things are made.
You’ll Bring:
Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience in a fabrication, assembly or manufacturing environment
Trade or technical background (boilermaker, fitter, etc.) preferred
LEAN manufacturing training or similar continuous improvement qualification
Proven success managing multi-disciplinary teams and facilities
Strong planning, communication and team-building skills
Commitment to safe work practices, quality outcomes and cultural leadership
Welding Supervisor qualifications (AS1796 or ISO9606) highly regarded
