As the Manager, Product Management at the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC), you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the nation's digital research infrastructure. You'll lead a diverse team of product managers and specialists, driving the development of innovative products that support Australia's thematic Research Data Commons. This role offers you the opportunity to apply state-of-the-art product management practices to national-scale projects, directly impacting research capabilities across academia, government, and industry.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Team Leadership: Build and empower a high-performing product management team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Product Strategy: Apply cutting-edge product management practices to deliver national digital research infrastructure products.
- Resource Management: Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet strategic needs and balance staff workloads across diverse projects.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster relationships across the digital research ecosystem, ensuring ARDC stays at the forefront of product management in research infrastructure.
You may be a great fit if:
You are an experienced Product Manager with a strong background in digital research infrastructure, possessing excellent leadership skills and the ability to drive innovation in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
You may also:
- Hold a degree in a relevant field with significant product management experience.
- Demonstrate specialist knowledge in digital research infrastructure or research disciplines like health, environment, or HASS.
- Have strong strategic leadership and people management skills in diverse, geographically dispersed teams.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate across various institutions.
- Show a commitment to staying current with state-of-the-art product management methodologies and tools.

Your new team - Research Computing Services
Research Computing Services (RCS) is a department within Business Services. RCS delivers the digital research infrastructure and services for researchers at The University of Melbourne. RCS operate on-premise High-Performance Computing (HPC), Cloud Computing and General-Purpose Graphical Processing Unit (GPGPU) computational platforms.
RCS operate over 20 PB of research data storage to enable data-driven research and collaboration and a range of data management services and provide a range of consultation services to support the development of custom computation and data management solutions. RCS also contributes to the national
eResearch infrastructure initiative the ARDC's Nectar Research Cloud and facilitate access to Australia's national supercomputer facility NCI.
