About the role

We are seeking an experienced Wine Bar Manager to join our team at Pieno in Surry Hills, NSW. As the Wine Bar Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our wine bar, ensuring exceptional customer service and driving sales. This is a full-time position that demands a hands on professional that can both motivate staff and can lead by example.

What you'll be doing

Managing all aspects of the wine bar's operations, including rostering, training, recruitment, inventory management, and financial reporting and working to a budget

Developing and implementing strategies to grow wine bar revenue and enhance the customer experience through excellent service

You will be responsible for the wine list, cocktails, staying up-to-date with industry trends

Providing excellent customer service and fostering a warm, welcoming atmosphere in the wine bar

Training and managing a team of bartenders and waiters

Liasing and working with the kitchen staff to build a cohesive team

Ensuring compliance with all relevant liquor licensing and food safety regulations

Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification is mandatory

Collaborating with the broader cafe management team to align on business objectives and integration

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar Wine Bar Manager or Assistant Manager role

Strong knowledge of wine varieties, regions, and food pairings

Proven track record of driving sales and improving customer satisfaction

Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with customers, staff, and management

Strong financial acumen and experience in inventory management and cost control

Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in a warm and inclusive enviroment

Australian work authorisation is required for this position
