About The Role As a Manager Quality & Risk, you will directly report to Care Services Manager and is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of an integrated quality and risk management framework across Alzheimer's WA, including oversight of the organisation’s risk and quality systems. The role includes developing and maintaining internal and external relationships and ensuring compliance against the Aged Care Quality Standards and other relevant legislative requirements. The incumbent will be implementing systems and processes to ensure effective and efficient results and supporting the quality team to achieve the organisation’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Quality & Compliance Leadership: Oversees development and implementation of quality improvement, compliance, and assurance processes, including audits and self-assessments, in collaboration with executive and senior leadership.
- Incident & Quality Systems: Leads the coordination of the Quality and Incident Management System, ensuring structured investigations and analysis of incidents.
- Risk Management Framework: Develops and maintains a comprehensive risk management philosophy, policy, and framework aligned with legislative and best practice standards.
- Training & Compliance Oversight: Monitors and evaluates organisational compliance with quality and risk training standards, including worker screening and competency requirements.
- Policy Governance & Industry Engagement: Manages policy review and maintenance, engages with industry to ensure alignment with registration requirements and best practices in dementia care.
- Leadership & Capacity Building: Provides expert consultancy, facilitates quality committee meetings, and mentors staff and managers to strengthen service delivery and risk management capabilities.
Essential Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or 5+ years' experience in aged care quality/risk management.
- Proven leadership in Quality Management Systems and aged care audits.
- Skilled in evaluating practices against standards and policies.
- Strong communication skills, including writing and presenting.
- Current knowledge of aged care/community sector quality and risk.
- Holds/willing to obtain Police Clearance, Driver’s License, and COVID-19 vaccination (3 doses).
