Bombasted restaurant is located at 93 Queen Street, St Marys 2760 and we urgently need a Cook to perform the following duties
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Menu Preparation: Collaborate with the restaurant management and head chef to develop a menu that includes a variety of traditional Arabic & Middle Eastern dishes. This involves researching and suggesting new recipes, considering customer preferences, and ensuring the availability of ingredients.
2. Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces and spices required for the dishes. Follow specific recipes and techniques to maintain the authenticity of the cuisine.
3. Cooking: Use various cooking methods such as grilling, baking, frying, and stewing to prepare the dishes. Ensure that the food is cooked to the right temperature, and pay attention to presentation and garnishing.
4. Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation. Regularly taste and evaluate dishes to ensure consistency and make necessary adjustments. Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
5. Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of ingredients and supplies. Place orders for fresh produce and other necessary items to ensure a smooth workflow in the kitchen.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen staff, including sous chefs and line cooks, to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely service. Communicate effectively with the front-of-house staff to accommodate special requests and dietary restrictions.
7. Creativity and Innovation: Bring creativity and innovation to the kitchen by experimenting with new flavors, ingredients, and cooking techniques while staying true to the essence of middle eastern cuisine.
8. Adaptability: Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Be prepared to handle peak hours, special events, and customer demands efficiently.
9. Cleanliness and Safety: Adhere to strict hygiene and safety standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including utensils and equipment.
10. Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in Persian cuisine. Attend workshops, culinary classes, and seminars to enhance skills and knowledge.
Appropriate candidate must have the following skills, education and experience:
Education : Certificate III or Certificate IV or Diploma
Australian Experience : At least 3 + years of Australian Experience OR
Overseas Experience : At least 3+ years of Overseas Experience
Specialist : Cooking
Work Rights : Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident or Full Work Rights Holder
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents will be preferred. Other applicants with full work rights can apply only if they meet the above criteria.
