East Melbourne Ultrasound is a well-established Obstetrics and Gynaecological Ultrasound practice providing exceptional patient care.

We are seeking a friendly and experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team at East Melbourne Ultrasound on either a part time or full-time basis. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth running of our busy medical practice. The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for booking and confirming ultrasound appointments, billing patients and liaising with staff to provide an exceptional patient experience.

About the Role

As a key member of our front-of-house team, you’ll:

Greet and assist patients with warmth and professionalism

Manage all incoming calls and appointment bookings

Process billings, payments, and Medicare rebates

Maintain accurate patient records and correspondence

Support clinical staff with administration and coordination

Keep the reception and waiting areas welcoming and well-organised

Provide guidance and support to other reception team members

About You

You are professional, kind, and detail-oriented — someone who genuinely enjoys helping others.

To succeed in this role, you’ll have:

Minimum 3+ years’ medical reception experience, including 2+ years in medical imaging or obstetrics & gynaecology

Excellent knowledge of Medicare billing

Strong communication and multitasking skills

Proficiency with medical software and Microsoft Office

A caring, calm, and professional manner with patients and colleagues

A positive, can-do attitude and strong attention to detail

Australian work rights are required for this position

Desirable: Experience in team leadership or mentoring reception staff.
