The Role
The Remote Australia Employment Services (RAES)/Commercial Area Manager Far West will establish a high-performance culture focused on quality service delivery, contractual compliance, and commercial growth across Yilabara’s Far West Region. The position will be pivotal in building strong, strategic relationships with employers, community stakeholders, and government departments to meet Yilabara’s contractual and performance targets.
This role will ensure that the strategic direction of RAES aligns with local needs, fostering service delivery that is adaptive, trust-based, and community-driven. Through visible leadership and collaborative support, the Area Manager will empower staff, promote a culturally safe work environment and ensure that all team members are equipped to support participants in achieving meaningful, sustainable outcomes.
By actively supporting staff across programs, the Area Manager will play a key role in driving the success of Yilabara’s service delivery across the Far West Region, ensuring both program compliance and continuous improvement is achieved.
The role will be based across Yilabara's Broken Hill, Menindee and Wilcannia sites
Core Responsibilities
Lead the introduction and delivery of RAES across the Far West Region ensuring that Yilabara Service Delivery Model is achieved.
Manage and monitor team adherence to operational guidelines, ensuring contractual compliance and quality service delivery. Supporting staff to meet key deliverables, engagement milestones, caseload management, and service quality standards, through regular supervision, performance tracking, and corrective actions when necessary.
Ensure documentation and reporting requirements are completed and that participant records and claims processes meet contractual and audit standards.
Support staff in completing required training, WHS, cultural safety, and professional development, while developing the capability of Remote Employment Services staff through effective leadership, structured supervision, on-the-job coaching, performance feedback, and access to growth opportunities.

Work closely with the RAES Regional Community Project Manager to develop and lead Yilabara Far West Regions commercial activities, ensuring all standard requirements and financial targets are met.
Contribute to the design of systems, tools, and reporting processes that allow site staff to efficiently administer services, monitor progress, and report on contractual outcomes with accuracy and timeliness.
Guide staff in building and maintaining strategic employer and stakeholder relationships to enhance employment outcomes, while also identifying local labour market opportunities for participants.
Report transparently to the RAES Regional Manager on staffing, service risks, governance issues, performance challenges, and financial outcomes, and initiate solutions as needed.
Participate in Yilabara complaint and feedback process ensuring that all issues are addressed accurately and efficiently as per contractual requirements.
Ensure staff comply with all Yilabara policies and procedures and understand their individual and collective responsibilities in maintaining service quality and compliance.
Essential Criteria
Qualifications
Qualifications relating to either Employment Services or Project Management and/or other relevant disciplines will be highly regarded
Skills, Ability and Knowledge
Significant experience in the delivery of employment related services, ideally in a remote setting
Experience in delivering Government funded contracts particularly those related to employment services, training, disability services, or similar sectors, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, financial milestones, and reporting obligations.
Experience in managing commercial activities and financial targets
Practical experience working within local Aboriginal Communities and supporting Indigenous people into employment would be highly regarded
Demonstrated experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring teams, especially in multi-site environments, with a focus on fostering a high-performance culture, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Strong ability to manage high-volume and complex contracts, ensuring that all service delivery and compliance requirements are consistently met.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build strong, long-term relationships with key partners, local employers, and community groups to enhance employment outcomes.
Working knowledge of WHS legislation.
Valid Current Drivers licence.
Valid National Police and Working With Children Checks
