As we continue to expand, we’re seeking a motivated Business Development & Sales Manager to drive growth, build strong client relationships, ensure accurate quoting and for overseeing the full contract lifecycle.
The Role
This business development management position’s mission is to generate new business through relationships, tendering and sales. You will strategically network, nurturing client relationships, using our CRM system to track leads and sales, preparing accurate proposals and negotiating to win-win work opportunities. You will work directly with a support coordinator and our Hive leadership team. Your work will directly impact on the overall sales strategy and performance of the company.
Responsibilities
Generate new business through networking, referrals, and proactive outreach.
Ensure sound management across all aspects of the sales portfolio, including transparent decision-making, record keeping, legal compliance, IMS conformance, and adherence to contractual obligations.
Prepare accurate and timely contract/quotations for a wide range of tree-related services.
Build and maintain relationships with clients and industry contacts by providing consistent communication and high-quality service.
Manage the sales lifecycle from enquiry → proposal → contract → follow-up.
Take overall responsibility for the end-to-end transition of new business within the group in collaboration with the Business Support Coordinator and other stakeholders.
Collaborate with Operations and Finance Managers to ensure a seamless end-to-end service model is always in place.
Act as a role model to develop and unify a values-driven culture across the company, building focus, brilliance at the basics, operational excellence, and continuous improvement, without creating organisational siloes.
Understand, comply with, and remain up to date with Hive Tree Services Policies and Procedures, including industry-specific statutory obligations.
Qualifications
Proven sales and business development experience in arboriculture, horticulture, landscaping, or other industry related fields.
Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
Commercial and contracts knowledge and experience.
Knowledge of arboriculture services, pricing, and labour models.
High-level numerical and analytical skills.
Demonstrated financial knowledge of P&L and budgets.
Demonstrated skill in developing and executing operational plans.
Experience in the management of contractors.
