We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Painting Inspector to oversee our blast and paint operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Role Overview:

The Quality Painting Inspector is responsible for managing the day-to-day quality requirements of our painting team, conducting inspections, maintaining compliance records, and mentoring staff. This role plays a key part in ensuring that all blasting and coating processes meet the highest quality standards required for defence, mining, and power industry projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspection & Quality Assurance

Perform and document quality control tests, including:

Maintain traceability documentation and ensure compliance with all quality records for each project.

Supervision & Team Oversight

Compliance & Reporting

Process Improvement & Communication

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum 5+ years’ experience in industrial painting and coating inspection in heavy fabrication environment.

Experience in Defence and Mining would be advantageous.

Minimum AAMP / NACE Level 2 or FROSIO Level 3 certification or equivalent.

Strong knowledge of AS/NZS, ISO, ASTM, Experience in Aus Paint Trade Standard advantageous.

Hands-on experience with blast and paint processes including:

Abrasive blasting (steel grit, garnet)

Airless and pressure pot spray application

Experience in mentoring and supervising painting teams.

Proficiency in using inspection tools such as:

DFT gauges, holiday detectors, spark testers, adhesion testers, and salt testing kits.

Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel).

Excellent documentation and reporting skills.

Ability to work independently and within a team, under project deadlines.
