About the role

We are seeking an experienced and talented Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at LOCAL BURLEIGH HEADS' in Burleigh Heads, Queensland. This is a full-time role that will see you playing a key strategic and operational role within our vibrant, award-winning restaurant.

What you'll be doing

Assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, recipe development, and food preparation

Overseeing the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring consistent high-quality food delivery

Supervising and training kitchen staff to maintain exceptional standards

Monitoring inventory and placing orders to maintain adequate stock levels

Collaborating with the front-of-house team to ensure a seamless dining experience for our customers

Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years' experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role in a busy restaurant environment

Proven track record of leading and motivating a kitchen team

Strong culinary skills and knowledge of contemporary cuisine trends

Experience across all culinary styles with adaptability to diverse menu requirements

Excellent time management and multitasking abilities

Passion for using fresh, locally sourced ingredients

Food safety certification and knowledge of relevant regulations

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Must have Australian work rights for this position
