About the Team
The Medical Education Unit (MEU) plays a vital role in supporting the learning, development and wellbeing of medical staff at Children's Health Queensland. The team delivers orientation programs, coordinates ongoing education and professional development opportunities, and ensures medical training programs meet accreditation and assessment standards. Through collaboration with educators and clinical leaders, the MEU fosters a culture of continuous learning and supports safe, high-quality care for children and young people.
About the Role
- Undertake specific administrative duties as directed by the Medical Education Officer/s, Director of Clinical Training and Director of Paediatric Education, and provide support and assistance to other MWES team members as the situation requires during times of increased activity.
- Maintain a sound working knowledge of current matters and issues relating to medical education.
- Identify, develop and implement work practices that improve workflow, efficiency and effectiveness, including maintaining effective administrative and record management systems, resolving day to day administrative issues, and contributing to continuous improvement of work practices.
- Work with a level of autonomy, exercising discretion in the absence of direct supervision to resolve issues, meet deadlines, establish work priorities and organise meetings.
- Maintain assigned information databases and document management systems accurately, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and review of unit specific policies, procedures and processes as directed.
- Support the delivery of education programs, including managing room bookings, equipment set up and support, online conferencing technologies, and presenter coordination.
- Build and maintain effective professional relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders including program sponsors, accreditation bodies and internal service providers.
- Contribute to the development of a learning culture within the HHS, consistent with the role of a tertiary hospital.
