MJM Recruit has partnered with a long-established, family-owned construction business with over 30 years of success delivering residential and commercial concrete projects across Melbourne.
Moving to brand new offices in Mulgrave, this role will suit someone who enjoys managing all administrative tasks of an office.
If you enjoy variety, can take ownership of your work, and thrive working autonomously in a smaller office providing support to the Managing Director, then this is your dream role!
About the Role
Working closely with the Managing Director and supported by an external Accountant, you will help keep daily operations on track.
This varied role combines administration, basic accounts payable, and PA support, offering plenty of autonomy for someone who’s proactive and detail oriented.
You will:
Assist with basic accounts payable and receivable tasks using Xero
Manage supplier invoices, coding, and payment follow-ups
Provide PA support, scheduling, diary management, meeting coordination
Be the first point of contact for visitors and phone enquiries
Maintain contractor licences, insurances, and compliance records
Keep the office running smoothly, purchasing supplies, filing, and job documentation
Support project admin, document control, and job tracking
Look for ways to streamline tasks and stay productive during quieter periods
About You
Are you professional, trustworthy, and take pride in doing things properly?
You will fit perfectly if you have a strong work ethic, are hands-on, and love being across everything in a construction office.
Experience working in construction or around trades (essential)
Solid administration and accounts experience (Xero preferred)
Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-up and communication skills
Reliable, honest, polite, and professionally presented
Confident working autonomously at times on your own in the office
Proactive, self-motivated with initiative, always finding a task to do
Competent with Microsoft Office and general office systems
Current driver’s licence

Competitive salary: $70K–$75K + super
