The Opportunity
We are seeking a Commercial Lending BDM with a business development mindset, someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, building their own portfolio and driving commercial outcomes. If you are results-driven, motivated by success, and passionate about helping Australian businesses grow, this is your chance to be part of a leading commercial broking team.
You will work directly with business owners, lenders, and strategic partners to structure, negotiate, and settle a wide range of commercial finance transactions – from working capital and equipment finance to commercial property lending.
What You’ll Do
Developing new business opportunities in commercial lending.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with SMEs, investors, developers, accountants, brokers, and referral partners.
Assessing client needs and matching them with lending solutions across banks, private lenders, and non-bank funders.
Structuring, preparing, and negotiating finance proposals.
Driving revenue growth while maintaining compliance with credit and regulatory requirements.
Achieving and exceeding monthly and quarterly targets through strategic relationship building.
Staying informed on industry trends, credit policy changes, and lender offerings.
Who You Are
A minimum 3–5 years’ experience in commercial lending, business banking, or debt advisory.
Existing introducer/referrer network highly regarded.
Diploma/Cert IV in Finance & Mortgage Broking or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
Proven track record in commercial lending, business banking, or debt advisory (and achieving sales targets).
Strong relationship management and networking skills (especially with accountants, lawyers, and referral networks).
Understanding of credit analysis, cash flow lending, property-backed lending, and alternative finance structures.
Ability to work in a small team environment, often wearing multiple hats.
An entrepreneurial mindset – motivated by growth and results.
Self-starter who thrives in a boutique business with less hierarchy and more autonomy.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Resilience and adaptability in a competitive lending market.
