About the Role
The Senior Vice President Real Assets Australia is responsible for delivering accurate and timely accounting services to real assets funds and fund managers, while managing client relationships, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and driving team development and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Service
- Manage overall client relationships and negotiate Service Level Agreements
- Monitor service delivery, prepare quarterly Service Review packs, and identify scope changes
- Provide real estate industry expertise to clients and internal stakeholders on sales pitches and presentations
- Drive cross-selling opportunities across Lines of Business
- Conduct annual budget planning and quarterly revenue analysis with margin improvement plans
- Oversee billing activities and accounts receivable collection
Operations
- Coordinate new business onboarding and review fund closing documents
- Oversee preparation of monthly/quarterly reporting, NAV calculations, and financial statements
- Manage capital calls, distributions, and transfers in line with fund documents
- Ensure adherence to AASB/IFRS/USGAAP accounting standards
- Coordinate external audit process and perform regular client risk assessments
- Review processes and implement improvements while maintaining SOC 1 controls compliance
Team Management
- Oversee and develop a small team of professionals
- Monitor team performance to meet SLA and financial targets
- Lead recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management
Requirements
- Bachelor/Master Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CA, CPA or ACCA qualification preferred
- Minimum 15 years in fund administration, accounting or audit (with at least 5 years in Real Assets/Real Estate)
- Knowledge of AASB, IFRS and/or USGAAP
- Strong client relationship management and supervisory skills (5+ years leading staff)
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English
- Project management skills with proven ability to effect change
- Proficient in Microsoft applications; Yardi or similar real estate systems highly desirable
