School Infrastructure (SI) is delivering new school buildings, major upgrades and maintenance strategies to ensure every school-aged child has access to high quality education facilities at their local public school. This encompasses the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.

The Senior Asset Services Officer is responsible for managing capital works projects through every phase, from developing scope of works and technical documents to construction management and collaborating with the team to successfully deliver multiple construction projects simultaneously.

The role involves managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maintain clear communication and ensure effective coordination throughout the duration of each project.

About the role

Provide a full range of asset services to a group of schools withing the assigned Asset Management region, including the delivery of capital works and all aspects of facilities management, to support timely, and effective project delivery.

  • All aspects of project delivery, including preparing scope of works and technical criteria, project estimating, project procurement and construction management as part of a team delivering small to medium sized construction projects up to $5m within schools in NSW.
  • Provide effective support and advice working collaboratively with the team whilst delivering multiple construction projects.
  • Managing stakeholders, design teams and contract management.
  • New established role within a growing team. Flexibility of working from different sites within the South Western Sydney Asset Management region for the right candidate.

About you

  • Background in trades and construction including Government procurement would be highly desirable
  • Tertiary qualifications in construction administration and equivalent would be highly regarded
  • High attention to detail and excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Experience in advice and support with internal and external stakeholders to meet project deliverables including the effective communication and relationship with School Principals and school communities.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Current NSW Driver's License and ability to travel across the assigned Asset Management (AMU) region of South West Sydney NSW
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

There is no requirement to renew the WWCC once it expires after five years. Employer obligations under the WWCC will apply only for the duration of its validity, up to five years.
