We are seeking a motivated and experienced Landscape Development Officer to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring high-quality landscape outcomes in both public and private developments. You will play a key role in assessing landscape plans, providing technical advice, and contributing to the enhancement of sustainable urban design and green infrastructure across our region.

Key Responsibilities

Assess and review landscape development plans submitted as part of planning and development applications.

Provide expert advice on landscape design, urban greening, tree protection, and public realm improvements.

Monitor construction and implementation of landscape works to ensure compliance with approved plans and environmental standards.

Work closely with planners, developers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure quality landscape outcomes.

Contribute to the development and implementation of landscape policies, guidelines, and strategic plans.

Support community engagement initiatives related to landscape and open space development.

Essential Criteria

Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Architectural Design or similar qualification, or a recognised Diploma in horticulture, landscape design, project management or other relevant discipline desirable with significant experience.

Demonstrated experience in landscape assessment, development compliance, or urban design.

Strong knowledge of landscape construction standards, plant selection, and maintenance principles.

Familiarity with local government planning frameworks and environmental regulations.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS, Adobe Suite, or equivalent design tools).
