About the role
Our assessment centre and high-volume training in-take programmes have grown legs and significantly expanded over the last two years.
We're seeking a Recruitment & Onboarding Officer to join our team and support our mission of identifying the next generation of public sector talent utilising leading multi-method assessment centre methodologies.
In this role, you will be the mainstay of our high-volume recruitment for the Public Transport Authority's graduate and Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in-take programs. You'll assist with the end-to-end applicant journey, from posting job ads and coordinating aptitude testing, to supporting assessment centre logistics and processing applicant onboarding.
Your key duties will include:
Recruitment Administration: You will handle the scheduling of recruitment processes, coordinate assessment centre logistics, and maintain recruitment databases.
Applicant Pool Management: You'll be the main point of contact for our applicants, ensuring they have a smooth and positive experience from initial application all the way through to training commencement.
Onboarding Coordination: You will coordinate training in-take allocations, process pre-employment screening and vetting checks, and produce employment offer documentation.
About You!
You're a proactive, solutions oriented, highly detail-oriented professional with a passion for connecting people with great opportunities. We're looking for someone with:
Proven experience in recruitment, HR administrative or mobilisation roles in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Exposure in supporting assessment centres would be an advantage, although not essential.
Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage high volume data with accuracy, multiple tasks and strict deadlines simultaneously.
Proactive problem-solving initiatives, you'll identify potential issues before they arise and have clear solutions in place to keep recruitment efforts on track.
Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships, and work collaboratively.
Exposure to Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and other recruitment software.

There is currently one full-time opportunity available for an immediate start, we are open to considering part-time hours for the right applicant.
This is a pool recruitment process where suitable applicants will be placed in a pool for 12 months. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies on a permanent basis that may arise within the next 12 months.
To be eligible to work at the PTA you must be either an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident or hold a valid work visa with permanent working rights.
