The Role
As the Manager Financial Analysis & Partnering, you will be instrumental in fostering a strong business partnering mindset across the organisation. Your role will focus on elevating the standard of financial analysis, improving transparency around financial performance and partnering outcomes, and delivering meaningful insights that support both strategic and operational decision-making.
You will lead and develop a high-performing team that works closely with business leaders - offering timely, accurate financial guidance, building robust corporate planning models, and ensuring key programs are delivered effectively within approved corporate and regulatory parameters.

Your key responsibilities
· Champion and embed a business partnering model that enhances Finance's strategic presence, influence, credibility, and value across all business units. Foster a culture of financial transparency and collaboration.
· Lead the delivery of advanced financial analysis to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities to drive cost optimisation, & operational efficiency.
· Develop and maintain robust and realistic financial forecasts, corporate plan models, and budgets
· Prepare high-quality Board & Committee papers and executive presentation packs with clarity, accuracy, and timeliness.
· Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.
· Become a trusted advisor to internal & external stakeholders building strong relationships, strengthening commercial acumen, and positioning partnering function as a key enabler of business success.
· Build, lead, and develop a high-performing business partnering team that fosters a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
· Drive continuous improvement by influencing and automating financial processes and systems.
· Role-model Yarra Valley Waters values and demonstrate strong people leadership, with a focus on team well-being, psychological safety, and personal accountability.
What we're looking for
· Tertiary qualification in Accounting & CA/CPA qualified or equivalent - Mandatory
· Proven experience in senior finance roles with a strong track record of partnering with stakeholders with the ability challenge status quo while fostering trusted partnering relationships across all levels from operational teams to executives.
· Extensive experience in financial planning and analysis, including forecasting, corporate planning, executive reporting and Board papers.
· Skilled in leading quarterly financial deep dives and guiding teams to understand business drivers, financial risks and performance levers.
· Strong Excel modelling and BI skills (e.g., Power BI), and a focus on delivering strategic, data-driven insights.
· Confident communicator and visible leader who proactively engages with stakeholders, initiates strategic conversations, and influences outcomes.
· Demonstrated leadership experience, with a track record of building and coaching high-performing teams through change.
· Hold a current Working with Children Check or be willing to obtain one if successful.
