Action Steel is a proudly family-owned, third-generation business based in Stawell, Victoria. We specialise in the design and manufacture of high-quality agricultural and industrial sheds. With a strong reputation for reliability and innovation, we’re now looking for an experienced Draftsperson to join our growing team.

The Role

As our Draftsperson, you’ll be central to turning client requirements into practical, compliant, and accurate designs. You will collaborate with our sales, designers, and delivery teams to ensure every project runs smoothly – catching compliance issues early and helping prevent costly rework.

What You’ll Be Doing

Producing and revising detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD

Completing structural steel detailing and drawing for agricultural and industrial sheds

Ensuring designs meet building codes, permit requirements, and QA standards

Collaborating with sales, designers, and delivery teams to keep projects on track

Spotting and resolving compliance issues before they cause problems

What We’re Looking For

3+ years’ proven drafting/design experience with AutoCAD (construction industry preferred)

4–5 years’ overall drafting/technical design experience (ideal)

Shop drawing/detail drafting experience highly regarded

Tekla modelling experience a bonus

Strong attention to detail with accuracy in dimensions and detailing

Solid understanding of permits, compliance, and QA processes

A team player who can also work independently
