Operations Manager – Commercial and Funding

Purpose of the Role
To lead the strategic and operational delivery of Winun Ngari Aboriginal Corporation’s commercial ventures and government-funded programs, ensuring they are financially sustainable, culturally aligned, and community-driven. The Operations Manager will drive income generation, compliance, and workforce readiness across diverse service areas, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and funding bodies.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Growth
Identify, develop, and exploit commercial opportunities to increase income across portfolio industries.
Build and maintain business relationships with existing and prospective clients.
Monitor market trends, legislative changes, and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
Provide regular updates to the CEO on commercial activity, risks, and opportunities.
Strategic Finance Leadership
Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting across commercial and funded programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and funding obligations.
Analyse financial performance, identify cost efficiencies, and model scenarios to inform decision-making and risk mitigation
Program & Business Leadership
Deliver high-impact government-funded programs and support the development of commercial businesses.
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure financial, regulatory, and workforce compliance across all operations.
Coordinate with auditors, HR, and authorities to meet charity and grant obligations.
Provide weekly updates and monthly reports to the CEO; notify Asset Manager of equipment or personnel issues.
Champion the Integrated Management System (IMS) and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement & Procurement
Develop strong rapport with clients, suppliers, community organisations, government departments, and political stakeholders.
Team & Culture Leadership
Lead multidisciplinary teams with empathy, structure, and accountability.
Foster a culture of safety, inclusion, and transparency.
Successful candidates will be subject to a variety of background checks including a national criminal history check, reference checks and, if applicable, WWCC, NDIS worker screening check and a pre-employment medical.

• Base salary of around $150,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience and skills.
