About the role

Phillip Island Winery is seeking a driven and experienced Venue Manager to oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operations of our winery and hospitality venue. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for managing a team of hospitality professionals and ensuring the smooth running of all front-of-house and back-of-house operations. The successful candidate will work on-site at our beautiful winery location in Ventnor, Phillip Island.

What you'll be doing

Manage the day-to-day operations of the winery hospitality operation, including staffing, customer service, inventory management, and financial management of our 200-capacity dining and event offering, cellar door and retail space.

Lead and motivate a team of hospitality professionals, including front-of-house, back-of-house, administrative and groundskeeping staff

Oversee the planning and execution of events, functions, and customer experiences

Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations

In conjunction with venue owners and management team, develop and implement strategies to enhance the customer experience and increase venue profitability

Monitor and report on key performance indicators to support business growth

What we're looking for

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a venue management or hospitality leadership role

Proven track record of successfully managing a team and driving operational excellence

Strong understanding of food and beverage service, inventory management, and financial reporting

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere

Knowledge of liquor licensing requirements and experience in ensuring compliance

Passion for the wine and hospitality industry

Effective communication and problem-solving skills
