The Asset Planner (Civil Assets) plays a pivotal role in the effective planning and management of Council’s asset portfolio, covering a broad range of infrastructure and community assets. This includes civil infrastructure, stormwater systems and natural assets.

Key Responsibilities include:

Lead the development, review and implementation of asset management plans, systems, data and policies in relation to Council infrastructure and community assets.

Monitor and maintain relevant asset data, mapping, systems, registers and associated workflow systems to ensure that asset data is captured and managed to support the objectives of Council.

Progress actions and improvements required against the ‘Improvement Plan’ as part of relevant Strategic Asset Management Plans.

Develop and support implementation of a variety of forward maintenance and capital works programs for the provision of civil assets to the community.

Develop, review and support the implementation of service standards, balancing technical, community and financial demands, for all works and upgrades associated with the construction, development and maintenance of Council’s assets.

Provide and/or obtain engineering and technical advice in relation to the development of treatments, interventions and solutions related to new infrastructure and renewal projects. This also includes the establishment and review of the required unit rates and project costs to inform budgets and the Long Term Financial Plan.

Qualifications & Skills:

Tertiary qualification in asset management, engineering, project management, or related fields (desirable).

Demonstrated experience managing diverse and substantial asset portfolios and associated programs of work.

Experience in Local Government (desirable).
