The Role

This role is well-suited for a Plumbing/trades Estimator or supervisor aiming to advance their career with an established plumbing construction company that has a strong project pipeline and is well respected in the local community

The Estimator/Operations role is an exciting and challenging role, where you have the opportunity to make a difference and add value to our business. You will also be responsible for the operations management in assisting construction supervisors complete work schedules and ordering materials as efficiently as possible within budget.

This full-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to the strategic growth of our company.

Main Activities

Tendering, Estimating and Contract management for all plumbing construction work that align with our company's strategic objectives

Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, subcontractors and suppliers to gather and verify cost data for accurate estimating

Purchasing to maximize profitability and availability of project materials

Participate in the estimate handover including plans, specifications, and schedule with the project manager/ construction supervisor after winning the project.

Actively monitoring key milestones and job stage profitability against budgets and schedules

Supporting both pre and post-tender negotiations and variations.

Using problem-solving skills to quickly resolve operational issues and keep projects on track.

Liaise closely with operational team and clients to ensure projects are properly scoped, prepared and scheduled.

Monitoring staff and workflow Operations.

Skills & Experience

Experience in preparing and submitting estimates and tenders to secure new projects and contracts

Proven experience in plumbing operations management or a related field, demonstrating a strong understanding of plumbing systems and regulations would be an advantage.

Strong management and communication skills with the ability to mentor and motivate teams to achieve goals.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and technical drawings

Excellent negotiation skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Proactive and results-oriented approach to business development including identifying growth opportunities

High computer literacy, and ability to learn new systems and estimating platforms
