About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the daily running of our transport operations to lead, solve and keep the wheels turning. This role is hands-on and pivotal in ensuring smooth fleet coordination, compliance, and service delivery. You will lead a team of drivers and office staff while working closely with management to drive performance and growth.

We are looking for a qualified individual with robust mechanical expertise and a proven track record in operations management to supervise personnel, optimise processes, and ensure the effective operation of our fleet. In this permanent, full-time position, you will be accountable for managing end-to-end operations, encompassing all aspects of oversight and execution.

Key Responsibilities

👥 Manage day-to-day transport operations, including scheduling, fleet utilisation, and load optimisation.

📄 Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), NHVR regulations, and company policies.

📈 Lead, mentor, and support a team of drivers and operations staff.

💡 Implement efficiency improvements, and maintain cost controls.

🧰 Oversee maintenance schedules, safety procedures, and incident reporting.

🤝 Build strong relationships with clients and ensure service levels are met or exceeded.

🧾 Report to senior management with operational updates and improvement strategies.

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in a transport/logistics operations management role.

Strong knowledge of transport regulations, compliance, and safety practices.

Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, staff, and management.

Proficiency in transport management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
