The Role

CSBB is currently seeking a Senior Technical Lead to join our creative and service-focused team. The ideal candidate an experienced technical infrastructure engineer and leader, seeking to join a highly motivated and skilled team supporting a geographically dispersed network environment operating primarily across the Microsoft Ecosystem.

As a member of the Digital Enablement team, this position is a senior role responsible for guiding the design, development, and delivery of robust, scalable technology solutions that support educational outcomes and operations. This position requires a blend of deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership capability.

This is a permanent, full time role based at our head office in Pennant Hills, with the opportunity to work from home 1 day a week.

Salary: Circa $165K + super

Role Responsibilities

Oversee the configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management of on-premises server infrastructure.

Manage and maintain Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) for software deployment, patching, and device compliance.

Administer and optimise Microsoft Intune for mobile device management (MDM), application control, and endpoint security across the network.

Manage Microsoft Azure services, including virtual machines, identity and access management (Entra AD).

Support the team in administering and optimising Microsoft 365 services including but not limited to Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure projects when required, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and implementation across hybrid environments (cloud and on-premises).

Offer guidance on the technical roadmap that underpins the broader CSBB strategy, aligning engineering efforts with strategic educational outcomes.

Ability to work after business hours when major incidents occur, or to implement changes during specific change window to minimise the service impact.

Undertakes and documents incident, problem, change and release management within an ITIL environment (ServiceNow).

Essential Criteria

Supportive of, or can demonstrate an understanding and commitment to, the ethos of the Catholic faith in an educational context.

At least 7+ years’ experience in similar roles, including servicing a user base exceeding 1,000+ users (this environment services about 2,500 users and 13,000 Windows and Apple devices).

Relevant tertiary qualifications such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Has advanced knowledge and skill in the Microsoft suite (VMM, SCCM, SQL, Clusters, Hyper-V, Windows Server and Client OS, Defender).

Deep understanding of on-premises systems (DELL servers, storage, networking) and cloud platforms (Azure).

Proficiency in Azure AD, Intune, SCCM, Exchange Online, and identity/access management.

Knowledge of endpoint management tools (Intune, Apple School Manager, Dell Command Centre).

Fundamental ITIL knowledge.

Experience with Windows clustering & standard Operating Environment design and management.

Experience in Windows Server Infrastructure Services (DNS, DHCP, AD DS, PKI, Certificate Services) & Monitoring systems experience (Microsoft System Centre Operations Manager.

Deep familiarity with Microsoft ecosystem tools: Azure AD, Intune, SCCM, Exchange Online, and M365.

Experience working in a fast-paced and solution focused environment, with the customer in mind to serve their needs and requirements.

Can manage competing priorities and the sensitivities of others to deliver high quality work.

Valid Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain prior to employment).
