About the Role

Our ASX-listed client, a dynamic and rapidly growing organisation with operations across Australia and internationally, is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join its in-house legal team.

Working directly with the Global Chief Legal Officer and Deputy General Counsel, this role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of matters, including corporate advisory, commercial transactions, contract negotiation, and regulatory compliance. It is a rare opportunity to step away from billable hours and contribute as a trusted business partner in a global corporate environment.

In this hands-on role, you will provide pragmatic and timely legal advice to support strategic objectives, manage risks, and ensure compliance across the group's operations. The position provides variety, commercial challenge, and the chance to make a tangible impact within a supportive and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

Provide commercially astute legal advice across a wide range of corporate and commercial matters.

Draft, review, and negotiate supplier and customer contracts, agreements, and legal documentation.

Support corporate transactions, including M&A, projects, and strategic initiatives.

Advise on regulatory, governance and compliance issues, including ESG, privacy, data protection and modern slavery.

Develop and implement precedents, policies, systems and frameworks to support organisational growth.

Manage external legal providers and liaise with stakeholders across the business.

Continuously improve legal processes, templates, and governance frameworks in line with best practice.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Legal qualifications and be admitted or eligible for immediate admission as a legal practitioner in Queensland.

At least 3+ years' post-admission experience in commercial law, corporate advisory, or transactions. (You may come from in-house or private practice).

Strong experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of contracts.

Knowledge of corporate governance, ASX listing rules, and the Corporations Act is desirable.

Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels.

Strong commercial acumen, problem-solving ability, and excellent communication skills.
