As an established and respected boutique firm with nine lawyers plus support staff, we are seeking an experienced Corporate & Commercial lawyer with a passion for mentoring, leadership, and client development to join our Brisbane team.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with our Principal Lawyer while managing your own matters and assisting our growing and dynamic client base. You’ll play a vital role in leading a team, mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to the firm’s overall success. You will also manage the relationship with one of our global leading companies that we support.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate internally to manage and oversee corporate and transactional matters;

- Provide accurate and concise legal advice to clients;

- Draft and lead share and asset sale transactions;

- Draft and review commercial and corporate contracts and documents;

- Work unsupervised on complex corporate and commercial transactions, including capital raising and establishment of investment trusts;

- Strategically support and work alongside the Principal Lawyer;

- Take an active role in identifying new client opportunities, contribute to firm growth initiatives and represent the firm at networking events;

- Proactive attitude, absolute commitment to quality and client protection, detail oriented and strong in clear communication and issue assessment;

- Supervise a team of 4-5 lawyers and associates;

- Foster and grow client relationships and experiences;

- Part of the Management Leadership Team with the Principal Lawyer and our Special Counsel for Litigation; and

- Mentor and support junior lawyers to help them grow and thrive.

Skills and Qualifications

- Deep experience in corporate and commercial matters is essential;

- Expertise in drafting and reviewing commercial or corporate contracts;

- Solid understanding of legal compliance and corporate issues and compliance with the Corporations Act;

- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities;

- Strong written and verbal communication skills;

- Ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders;

- Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate and develop a team of lawyers and support staff;

- Proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships, contribution to revenue growth;

- Business development

- Juris Doctor or Bachelor of Laws degree, together with a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice;

- 5-10 years PQE within a Corporate or Commercial Legal team with the right to practice law in Queensland.
