About Us

Aussie Play is a family-owned Australian business specialising in early childhood playground solutions. We design, manufacture, and install high quality, safe, durable & locally made playground equipment. Our range includes play frames, play pods, slides, sand & water play, outdoor furniture, adventure cubes, and more. Every piece is proudly made in Sydney, with in-house fabrication that enables us to maintain short lead times, high quality, and reduce environmental footprint through local production.

We believe in celebrating growth and learning through play, and in building long-term relationships with early learning centres, councils, schools, and families. We have a wonderful team that understand and take pride in the key role we play in the development of children.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated and strategic Business Development Professional to help us grow our sales and market presence. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities, building relationships with clients and partners, and working closely with the leadership, design, and production teams to ensure our offerings meet market needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities (schools, councils, early childhood centres, community organisations, etc.)

Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers/partners

Prepare proposals, quotes, and presentations to win projects

Conduct market research to understand trends, competitor offerings, pricing, and customer needs

Collaborate with internal teams (design, production, logistics) to ensure project feasibility, profitability, and customer satisfaction

Develop and maintain sales and marketing strategies

Attend trade shows, networking events, and client visits as needed

Report on sales performance, pipeline, and forecasts to management

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience:

Proven experience (3+ years) in business development / sales, ideally in manufacturing, outdoor / playground equipment, early learning / education or related sectors

Strong track record of achieving sales targets

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

Ability to build rapport with a diverse range of stakeholders (businesses, government, non-profits)

Strategic thinking: able to identify market trends, opportunities, and threats

Self-motivated, organised, and results-driven

Comfortable travelling locally for client meetings

Desirable:

Knowledge of the early childhood education sector, playground safety / standards

Understanding of manufacturing processes, local supply chains

Experience in preparing bids / tenders for councils or government bodies
