Position Title:
Business Development Manager
Position Summary:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is a strategic and proactive role, responsible for generating and qualifying leads, nurturing client relationships, and handing over
qualified leads to the Project Sales team, but still oversees client relationships throughout the entire sales process, ensuring continuity and trust.
The BDM must maintain awareness of all projects in the industry, assessing and qualifying each to determine its suitability for Identity Furniture. This requires conducting discovery calls and meetings, building strong relationships with key clients and contacts, and clearly communicating Identity Furniture’s value.
The role is critical to business growth by ensuring a steady flow of qualified opportunities moves through the sales pipeline. It plays a particularly important part in influencing decision-makers early in the process and ensuring the Project Sales team focuses only on high-potential, high-value projects.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s):
1. Number of new leads per month
2. $ value of new leads
3. $ value of deals handed to Project Sales team
4. Number F2F meetings and calls
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively meet face-to-face with architects, designers, venue owners, builders, brokers, and other key industry contacts to build and maintain relationships, increase brand awareness, and identify new leads.
- Conduct outbound calls and proactive follow-up to generate and progress leads.
- Attend industry and networking events, conduct factory tours, and site visits.
- Conduct discovery phone calls and meetings to qualify leads, confirm client needs, and set pricing expectations
- Maintain detailed pipeline management and reporting to ensure accurate forecasting.
- Research and identify decision-makers and influencers within each project, ensuring accurate targeting and effective engagement.
- Develop a clear overview of each client’s needs for efficient and effective handover to the Project Sales team, ensuring all necessary information is provided.
- Develop a strong understanding of Identity Furniture’s products and value proposition to respond confidently to client questions and explore potential new markets.
- Gather competitor and market intelligence to inform strategy and strengthen positioning.
Perform other tasks as reasonably directed by management.
