The successful candidate will rotate through all areas of the City’s Operations Division gaining experience in project management, construction, maintenance, asset management, sub-divisional engineering, facility management, fleet management, waste management, recycling, traffic engineering, tender administration and contract management.
You will also be supported with extensive career development opportunities such as technical training, financial assistance for further study, mentoring from established professionals, opportunities to act in leadership roles, and support to attain Chartered Status through Engineers Australia.

About the role
We are seeking a self-motivated individual who is looking to develop their career to take on a permanent full-time Graduate Engineer position starting in the area of Project Management. The successful applicant will be involved in coordinating and managing capital works projects for the City of Swan – ensuring safe practices, delivery of projects on time, within budget and to the required standards and specifications, and in accordance with all relevant legislation and the City’s policies and procedures. Responsibilities include contract administration, project documentation, progress reporting, and project budget management.

About you
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Membership, or eligibility to membership of Engineers Australia
- The ability to comprehend new technical information and apply it in a practical setting
- The ability to deliver a high level of customer service to internal and external customers
- Strong team leadership skills
- Proven oral and written communication skills
- The ability to work in an autonomous environment
- C Class Drivers Licence
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate

The salary for this position will be from $94,386 to $112,499 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
