THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Environment and Stakeholder Business Partner, you will be responsible for ensuring environmental governance and compliance, supporting efficient operations, and contributing to the overall success of the business.
You'll work within a close-knit team to support leaders and key stakeholders across the business, fostering strong internal and external relationships while ensuring day-to-day operations remain environmentally responsible and compliant.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and continuously improve the site’s Environmental Management System (EMS) to maintain compliance with legislative and ISO certification standards.
Record, interpret, and report environmental monitoring data; identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to support improvement.
Oversee environmental contractors and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service.
Design and implement initiatives to enhance environmental performance and sustainability across a range of site operations.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, maintenance, HSE, leadership) and external partners (e.g., regulators, consultants).
Working across boundaries in areas including Mining, Ash Disposal, Power Station and new energy projects.
Monitor site activities to identify and mitigate environmental risks, ensuring minimal disruption and full regulatory compliance.
Support and participate in environmental audits, inspections, and continuous improvement projects.
Contribute to the development and implementation of site-specific environmental strategies aligned with broader corporate goals.
This is a permanent, full-time position at Kogan Creek Power Station.

ABOUT YOU
You’re an experienced environmental professional with a strong background in managing environmental programs, ideally within heavy industry. You’re passionate about driving best practices and enjoy sharing your knowledge to help shape a culture of environmental responsibility.
You’ll also bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience managing EMS and a sound understanding of relevant legislation, standards, and frameworks.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust.
Analytical capability to assess complex environmental issues, manage risk, and develop practical solutions.
A proactive mindset and a collaborative approach, while confidently owning your responsibilities.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting environmental initiatives and key project delivery.
Preferred experience in heavy industry environments.
Skills in rehabilitation, groundwater management, and site contamination assessment.
