ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Advisor, Project Delivery AtoN is responsible for delivering projects related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of AMSA’s aids to navigation (AtoN) structures and systems. Key duties include managing project resources, supporting AtoN operations, and monitoring and reporting on program progress.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing the AtoN project delivery team, ensuring high-quality outputs, staff development, and welfare.
- Leading and managing a team of project managers to deliver AMSA’s AtoN project programs ensuring AMSA’s financial, safety, compliance and schedule risks are effectively managed to ensure value for money and quality outcomes are achieved.
- Leading the development and implementation of a project management framework, and associated project management tools and documentation.
- Ensuring the development of consistent, clear and concise tender and contract documentation, including the evaluation and negotiation processes, and management of contract risks.
- Managing and delivering specific projects within the AtoN project programs.
- Oversee the provision of comprehensive AtoN project and program financial planning and reporting.
- Ensuring compliance with procurement policies, environmental standards, and WHS legislation.
- Undertaking site assessments and reporting on contractor performance against contracted requirements.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this position, you will have the following skills and experience:
- Relevant project management qualification and/or at least 5 years’ experience delivering project management functions within the construction, engineering or maintenance fields.
- Demonstrated senior leadership in project management with relevant experience in program management and managing a team delivering project works.
- Demonstrated project and contract management skills including the ability to manage multiple contracts / projects and provide high quality program progress reporting.
- Proven ability to lead a high performing, inclusive and collaborative team of project managers and empower them by investing in their capability and managing competing demands and priorities.
- Understanding of government policy in relation to procurement, tendering and contract management.
- Understanding of contemporary environmental and risk management practices and Commonwealth and State workplace health and safety legislation.
- Understanding of AtoN systems and structural assets in a marine or coastal environment (will be highly regarded).
- Understanding of computerised asset management systems.
