Mid Level – Java Applications Developer

Our client is driving a major Transformation Project for higher education, implementing a system that will reshape how services are delivered. This role is an opportunity to be at the center of a large-scale digital transformation, building modern, fit-for-purpose applications that deliver lasting impact.

The day to day:

· Implement quality application solutions within projects and support ongoing maintenance and enhancements

· Work across the full development lifecycle: feasibility, analysis, design, development, implementation, support and optimisation

· Develop technical solution designs conforming to enterprise architecture standards

· Assist with the evaluation and selection of technology solutions

· Analyse new business requirements and contribute to solution design

· Develop, support, and modify system components as required

· Conduct unit and integration testing of solution components

What you will need:

· Degree in IT or related discipline with at least 2 years’ experience, or equivalent knowledge gained through training and experience

· Experience in analysis and design of complex technology solutions

· Strong skills in applications development and support with modern and emerging web application languages, frameworks, and platforms (including SQL and Java)

· Demonstrated technical leadership, initiative, and self-direction, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Desirable:

· Project management and/or project team experience

· Knowledge of ITIL principles and processes

· Experience in higher education or large-scale enterprise environments
