The Role

We are seeking a highly capable Payroll Officer / Accountant to join our Finance team as we prepare to open our Gold Coast office in October 2025.

This is a key finance role working across multiple entities within a dynamic hospitality and property investment group. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of accounts payable, payroll, compliance, and reporting functions while partnering closely with the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Oversee the full Accounts Payable process while maintaining strong supplier relationship

Process weekly payroll and ensure compliance with superannuation and payroll tax obligations.

Assist with month-end accounting and reporting across multiple entities.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date Fixed Asset Registers.

Prepare and lodge BAS/IAS returns and other statutory reporting.

Compile and analyse labour data for weekly/monthly reporting.

Generate daily and weekly performance data to support financial insights.

Provide ad-hoc support for industry-specific reporting (e.g. stock, beverage, and food sales).

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

Strong technical and practical knowledge of accounting standards and principles.

Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the team.

Familiarity with Xero, Lightyear and FoundU (preferred but not essential).

Previous hospitality or multi-entity accounting experience.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.

A proactive, solution-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Experience preparing business insights and recommendations to support operational decision-making.

Please note:

Initial training and onboarding will be held in Brisbane CBD for approximately one month.

From October, the role will be based in our Gold Coast office.

There is the possibility of part-time/pro-rata arrangements during the Brisbane training period, transitioning to full-time when the Gold Coast office opens.
