GPS Electrical Services is a growing, dynamic company providing electrical and automation services across Melbourne. We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team and take ownership of end-to-end payroll functions.

The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the smooth and accurate processing of weekly payroll, managing employee records, and ensuring compliance with awards and legislation.

Key Responsibilities

Process weekly payroll accurately and on time

Ensure payroll complies with awards, agreements, and legislation

Manage employee setup, contracts, and terminations in MYOB and Simpro

Prepare and issue pay slips, payment summaries, and superannuation contributions

Administer leave entitlements and payments

Support month-end payroll reporting

Respond to payroll queries and provide guidance on awards and policies

Maintain accurate employee records and filing systems

Communicate payroll variations as directed by the Financial Controller

Assist with ad hoc payroll and HR-related tasks

About You

Experience in end-to-end payroll processing

Strong knowledge of awards, legislation, and compliance requirements

Proficiency in MYOB and Simpro (or similar payroll/ERP systems)

High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
