About the Opportunity

As our new Payroll Officer, you won’t just be processing numbers; you'll be a trusted advisor to your own dedicated portfolio of clients. This is an autonomous role where you will take complete ownership of your client relationships, building trust and providing best-in-class payroll services and expert guidance. You will be the go-to specialist, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and peace of mind for the businesses we support.

Your Key Responsibilities will include:

Managing the end-to-end payroll processing for your dedicated client portfolio, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.

Acting as the primary point of contact for all client payroll enquiries, providing clear, confident, and expert advice.

Conducting regular data audits and validation to maintain data integrity and ensure full compliance with Australian employment law and Modern Awards.

Preparing and presenting insightful payroll reports and findings for both clients and senior leadership.

Championing best practices and contributing to the continuous improvement of payroll processes and systems.

What You Will Bring to the Role

To be successful in this position, you will have:

A minimum of 2 years of experience in an end-to-end payroll management role.

Essential: Significant hands-on experience with Chris21/iChris is a non-negotiable requirement for this role.

A strong, demonstrated knowledge of Australian employment law, Modern Awards, and complex payroll regulations.

Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with a natural ability to build rapport and trust with clients.

The ability to thrive under pressure, managing competing priorities with a calm, organised, and detail-oriented approach.

A tertiary qualification in Payroll, HR, or a related field is highly regarded.

Experience with other payroll/HRIS systems (e.g., SAP, Ceridian DayForce, Xero) is advantageous.
