About the position
Council’s Safer Communities Department is looking for a Business & Project Support Officer who will be responsible for providing a high level of effective business support to the Manager Safer Communities and Department and assist and support the department in the design, coordination and delivery of projects and initiatives.
The main responsibilities will include:
- Provide administrative support to the Manager Safer Communities, including email and calendar management, meeting minutes and agendas, general correspondence and general administrative tasks.
- Assist in the coordination and engagement of the community in the development, implementation and promotion of outcomes from the Community Safety Strategy, Council resolutions and educational programs with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support and provide knowledge in the use of corporate systems and technologies, designated software champion/subject matter expert and assisting other team members where required.

- Admin all-rounder – From inbox to invoice, you’ll support the Safer Communities team with precision, pace, and professionalism.
- Project & program support – Help deliver community safety initiatives and events that make a real impact, with strong coordination and stakeholder engagement.

This position is a Band 5 currently remunerated at $82,567.33 per annum, plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
