About the role
Looking for a career where you can balance purpose and lifestyle? Clarence Valley Council is seeking an Information Technology Officer to help deliver secure, reliable, and customer-focused technology services.
In this role, you’ll be at the front line of IT support — keeping systems running, solving tech challenges, and contributing to cyber security resilience and project delivery. You’ll work with a collaborative team that values innovation and supports your growth.

To be considered for this position you will need to:
• Address the essential requirements of the role as per position description
• Supply relevant certificates and licences, including drivers licence
• Attach a cover letter (2 pages maximum) and an up-to-date resume (5 pages maximum) that clearly details your skills & experience as relevant to this position. You will need to demonstrate how you meet the focus capabilities and how your skills will enable you to achieve the key accountabilities.
• Target questions - answer the target questions - maximum 300 words each question
Q1. Describe a time when you provided first-level IT support to resolve a customer’s issue. How did you manage communication, set expectations, and ensure a positive experience for the customer?
Q2. Using an example, describe a time where you had a challenging situation you faced in a previous technical role. What steps did you take to overcome it? What technical skillsets did you apply to solve this?
Q3. The IT Officer works as part of a team to deliver projects, staff training, and business continuity activities. Please outline an example where you collaborated with others to deliver an IT project, training session, or system improvement. What was your role, and what was the outcome?

Other important information
This position is located at Council's Grafton Office, however, this may change should business needs identify other work locations to be more appropriate to deliver our services in the future.
A probation period applies to this position.
