The opportunity:

Full-time position based at our Eaton Administration Centre.

Level 9 salary: $107,203 – $113,113 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Principal Planning Officer to lead and support a diverse range of planning functions across the Shire of Dardanup. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to strategic growth in one of WA’s most dynamic regions.

What you’ll do:

Provide expert planning advice to Council, the community, and internal stakeholders.

Lead and supervise the Planning team, fostering professional development and best practice.

Manage and assess development applications, scheme amendments, and structure plans in line with local and state planning frameworks.

Contribute to planning initiatives, including the review of Local Planning Schemes, Planning Policies, and Developer Contribution Plans.

Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to ensure integrated planning outcomes.

Prepare high-quality reports and recommendations for Council.

About You:

Tertiary qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline.

Demonstrated experience in planning roles with a strong understanding of WA planning legislation, policies, and procedures.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Proven leadership and team development capabilities.
