Main roads is seeking three (3) capable and enthusiastic individuals to step into the role of Planning Information Officer within our Statutory Road Planning team. About You
You will be career-driven with a positive mindset, seeking to fully utilise your expertise and develop your career within an innovative and agile organisation.
As a Planning Information Officer, you’ll play a key role in assessing and responding to statutory planning referrals and managing and maintaining spatial planning data to protect future road planning outcomes.
You’ll support strategic road planning by:
Managing and maintaining GIS and CAD-based planning systems (ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, CAD)
Responding to statutory planning referrals and enquiries, assessing a range of planning applications (e.g. scheme amendments, structure plans and Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS) proposals
Supporting strategic road planning, future route development, and MRS amendment proposals
Providing technical research and assist in preparing planning guidelines and documentation
Maintaining accurate and accessible planning databases for stakeholders
We’re looking for someone with:
Strong understanding of statutory planning processes and legislation
Extensive experience with GIS/CAD platforms and spatial data interpretation
Considerable research and analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex planning proposals and provide sound recommendations
Knowledge of cadastral data, road design, and planning systems
Alignment with Main Roads safety, equity, and diversity values
