Our client is a long-established property development and project management group with over 50 years of experience delivering successful projects across Melbourne and beyond. They manage the full lifecycle of development, from site acquisition and feasibility through to planning, funding, and delivery. Their portfolio spans residential high-rise, commercial, and mixed-use developments, giving employees exposure to a broad and dynamic project mix. Known for their hands-on approach, transparency, and strong client partnerships, they continue to expand their footprint while maintaining a culture that’s collaborative, professional, and people focused. They are now seeking immediate support within their finance and administration team due to an increased workload.
About the role
This is a full-time, permanent role based five days a week out of their inner-city office. It’s a varied position with a strong focus on finance and accounting, while also supporting smooth day-to-day office operations. You’ll be the go-to person for both the numbers and the details that keep things running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Day to day, you’ll process around 10 invoices, manage accounts payable and receivable in Xero, complete bank and credit card reconciliations, and assist with month-end reporting, journal entries, and forecasting activities. You’ll be responsible for maintaining up to date financial records, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring smooth payment cycles, while also stepping in to support the wider team with reception and general office coordination when required. It’s a hands-on position that will see you working closely with a collaborative team in a modern office environment, gaining exposure to diverse property projects and enjoying the perks of a polished, professional workplace within the inner city.
About you
You’re organised, proactive and confident with numbers, with experience in a finance role where you’ve managed accounts payable, reconciliations and data entry in Xero or similar systems. You’ve got a sharp eye for detail and are comfortable spotting and resolving discrepancies while keeping records accurate. You enjoy being the person others rely on, whether it’s supporting the month-end process or helping with day-to-day office coordination. Strong communication skills mean you work well with senior staff, clients and visitors, and you bring a calm, approachable attitude that helps you manage competing priorities with ease.
