Want a role where no two days are the same? As the hub of our small, high-performing team, you’ll drive momentum across events, membership, finance and CEO projects. If you thrive on variety, details, and problem-solving, this is the role for you

About Us

As one of the oldest professional bodies in the country, the Institution of Surveyors NSW (ISNSW) is more than just a member-based not-for-profit—we are passionate advocates for the surveying profession. We champion surveyors across the state and across every stage of their careers.

In case you’re new to the world of surveying: surveyors measure, map and define the land, waterways, and built environment that shapes our daily lives—from roads and bridges to land boundaries and buildings.

The Role

This is a dynamic, face-paced and varied role that sits at the heart of our operations. As our Admin Assistant, you’ll help bring our events and memebrship engagement to life, while supporting the team and CEO on projects.

What You’ll Do

Manage inboxes, calendars, and schedules to keep priorities on track.

Support delivery of events, webinars, and conferences — registrations, venues, catering, AV, and on-the-day logistics.

Maintain accurate member and CPD records in our database (Membes).

Prepare meeting papers, policy documents, newsletters, and member communications.

Provide hands-on support to the CEO — travel arrangements and projects.

Helping compile content for newsletters, social posts or internal comms

About You

You're a strong organiser, a clear communicator, and a natural problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced, people-focused environments. You’ve got a sharp eye for detail and a calm, can-do attitude.

You’ll bring:

Proven experience in time management, confident juggling competing deadlines and switching between tasks - ideally in a not-for-profit or member-based organisation.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills (you’ll be the friendly face and voice to members).

Strong initiative, proactive mindset, and the ability to anticipate needs.

Confidence with Microsoft Office, inbox and calendar management, and digital tools like Teams, SharePoint, or Canva

Brings initiative: spots what needs doing and gets it done.

A team-first approach with the flexibility to jump in where needed

Bonus points if you have:

Experience working with membership databases (particularly Membes)

Exposure to event planning or content coordination

This role requires minimal occasional travel across NSW and attendance at after-hours events (time in lieu is offered). It also requires permanent rights to work in NSW.

Why Join Us?

We’re a small but high-performing team driven by professionalism, trust, and impact. We’re looking for a versatile team member who’s eager to learn, is proactive, flexible, and well-organised. You’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality events and communications across the organisation. We offer:

A collaborative, purpose-driven workplace with a culture-first approach

A varied and rewarding role with professional development opportunities

A small, agile team where your input makes a visible difference

Direct exposure to events, membership, finance, and CEO-level projects — a great “career accelerator".

To Apply:

Please send your CV and a brief cover letter outlining why you would be a great fit to [email protected].

Position is available immediately and applications will be reviewed as they are received.
