About the role
- Employment Type: Part-time (21 hours per week) working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday each week
- Duration: 12-month Fixed-term contract
- Remuneration: Level 5 $88,717 - $100,386 pro rata (based on experience) + 17% Super + Annual Leave loading

Why this role matters
The Administrator provides effective day-to-day administrative support within Population Child Health Research Group, Discipline of Paediatrics & Child Health, Randwick Clinical Campus to ensure all services are provided efficiently to meet the operating needs of the Population Child Health Research Group and Child UnLimited.
This role will provide vital operational and administrative support to ensure the effective functioning of Child UnLimited. Key responsibilities will include governance support (including acting as Board Secretary), project coordination, meeting and communication facilitation, and assistance with grant development and research administration.
The position will report to the Professor, Lead of the Population Child Health Research Group at UNSW Medicine & Health, with additional accountability to the Chair of the Child UnLimited Board. While employed by UNSW, the role will work day-to-day as part of the Child UnLimited operational team and liaise closely with stakeholders across the organisation. The position does not have direct reports.
Skills required
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Advanced time management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
- Well-developed interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience providing effective customer service and support to clients at all levels.
- Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to make sound judgements and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated experience supporting and contributing to projects and initiatives.
- Familiarity with issues affecting children with chronic illness or disability and their families (desirable).
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
