About the role

We are seeking an exceptional Executive Sous-Chef to join our talented culinary team at Carter Lovett', a leading cafe in the vibrant suburb of Elsternwick, Victoria. As an Executive Sous-Chef, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and customer satisfaction.

This is a full-time position based in Elsternwick.

What you'll be doing

Assisting the Executive Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and overall kitchen management.

Supervising and coordinating the work of the kitchen brigade, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants.

Ensuring strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.

Maintaining inventory control and ordering supplies to meet the restaurant's needs.

Providing training and mentorship to the kitchen team to continuously improve their skills.

Collaborating with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service.

Troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise in the kitchen during service.

What we're looking for

A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Sous-Chef or similar role in a high-volume cafe or restaurant.

Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively.

Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering consistently high-quality dishes.

Passion for using fresh, seasonal ingredients and creating dishes.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with the entire restaurant team

Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and during peak service hours
