Purpose:
To provide administrative support to Council teams by assisting with customer requests, maintaining registers, contributing to department documents and reports, correspondence, and other tasks to maintain Council's service delivery and business systems requirements.
Under the guidance and direction of department leaders, the Administration Officer will demonstrate skills, knowledge and experience associated with business administration by undertaking general admin tasks and providing quality customer service.

Required Skills and Experience:
- A strong background in a customer service environment with a passionate and innovative mindset towards improving and optimising customer experience.
- Demonstrated talent for building positive relationships and working in partnership with customers, community groups and organisational teams
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills with the ability to identify and implement practical solutions to customer issues through a collaborative approach to working with stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Strong organisational and time management skills as demonstrated by the ability to work with minimal supervision to achieve work program outcomes and service deliverables.
- Commitment to a team-based approach, with demonstrated ability to work across and in partnership with organisational teams and internal stakeholders to deliver Council services and projects to the required standard.
- Proficient computer literacy skills with the ability to quickly learn and train others in computer programs and online platforms
- High attention to detail and accuracy of information as demonstrated by the ability to collect, collate, analyse and report on statistical data.
- Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to Maranoa Regional Council's values and team goals.
- Previous experience working in local government or similar environment will be highly regarded but is not essential
Qualifications and Licences:
To be successful you will need to demonstrate that you meet the below mandatory requirements for the role:
- Current C (Car) Class Driver Licence
Desirable Qualifications and Licences:
Although not mandatory, the below qualifications and licences are considered beneficial to the role:
- Certificate III – Business Administration or Libraries (or similar discipline)
Position Details:
- Location: Surat, QLD
- Temporary, fixed-term position until June 2027
- Casual relief position
- Maranoa Regional Council Certified Agreement 2023 - Stream A- Level 3
