About the role

Carter Lovett is a bustling neighbourhood cafe and bistro in Elsternwick with a focus on exceptional service, coffee, food and wine. We are searching for talented and experienced Front of House professionals to join our dynamic team. We have a variety of roles available with opportunities for full time/ part time and casual hours. In this role you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional dining experience, making sure your section is always stocked, running food and drinks, and greeting and seating staff. Prior experience in a busy hospitality venue and familiarity in running your own section is a must.

What you'll be doing

Greeting and seating guests with a warm and friendly demeanour

Providing attentive and efficient table service, anticipating customers' needs

Responding to customer inquiries and addressing any concerns promptly and professionally

Assisting with the setup and maintenance of the dining area, ensuring it is clean and well-presented at all times

Collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment

Handling cash and card transactions accurately and securely

Contributing to a positive work environment and supporting your team members

What we're looking for

Previous experience in a customer-facing role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a restaurant or cafe setting.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with customers and provide exceptional service.

A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
