Currently seeking a Plant Engineer for a small manufacturing firm to complete maintenance and programming on the production line.
My client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of energy management systems used in portable and small-scale electronic devices.

Education:
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a maintenance or service engineer, with a significant portion of that time dedicated to working on Murata machinery.
Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Murata machine models and their sub-systems (e.g., winders, looms, automation systems).
- Strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills, including familiarity with PLCs (e.g. Omron / Mitsubishi), HMI panels, and servo drives.
- Proficiency in mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatic, and precision alignments.
- Experience with technical documentation, including schematics, blueprints, and service manuals.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Installation and Testing : Lead the installation and testing of Murata machinery, ensuring all systems are integrated correctly and perform to specification.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all Murata machines. Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.
- Troubleshooting and Optimization: Act as the primary escalation point for all technical issues related to Murata equipment. Use advanced troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes and implement effective, long-term solutions. Optimize machine performance to improve efficiency, yield, and quality.
- Technical Support and Training: Provide expert technical support to production staff and junior engineers. Develop and deliver training programs on the operation, maintenance, and safety procedures for Murata machines.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at upgrading machinery, implementing new technologies, and enhancing overall process efficiency. Document all maintenance activities, modifications, and performance metrics.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety policies and relevant industry standards. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Previous experience in manufacturing (pharmaceutical, electronics, food etc) would also be considered an advantage.
Note: Current operations are Monday – Friday, however afternoon and evening shifts will be required as production continues to ramp up. Saturday shifts may also be required.
